Attorney Richard Arsenault will be Chairing the LSBA’s 29th Annual Admiralty Symposium 

Attorney Richard Arsenault, program chair since its inception, will be chairing the LSBA’s 29th Annual Admiralty Symposium on Friday, September 16, 2022 in New Orleans. The symposium will be co-sponsored by the LSBA Insurance, Tort, Worker’s Compensation, and Admiralty Law Section and presentation topics will include key jurisdictional considerations for maritime practitioners. The symposium will bring together experienced Admiralty practitioners from both sides of the “V” as they provide unique insight into key maritime issues. The firm will also be covering the registration fee for select students from Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University, Southern University Law Center, Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, and Tulane University School of Law.

Attorney Wes Gralapp will be speaking on Space Law: The New Frontier and How It Relates to Maritime Law and Asbestos Litigation and Its Intersection with Maritime Law. Attorneys Dawn Chmielewski and Matt Crotty will discuss Best Practices for Alternative Dispute Resolution, attorneys Mike Koch and Chase Gore will talk Best Maritime Practices: Tips from the Bench and the Trench, and attorney Dustin Carter will be speaking on Ethical Obligations (and Potential Landmines) Associated with Social Media. Meet Richard J. Arsenault – Award Winning and Nationally Recognized Personal Injury Lawyer

The National Trial Lawyers recognized Richard as the 2014 Trial Lawyer of the Year Civil Plaintiff Finalist.

The Wall Street Journal has described him as having “national notoriety” and as a “big gun” among attorneys in competition for national leadership roles. Richard has over 300 articles and presentations to his credit and has authored many Law Review articles including one published in Federal Courts Law Review. Among other writings, he co-authored the chapter on Multidistrict Litigation in an ABA treatise. Richard was also asked by Judge Heyburn, JPML Chair, to participate in the Panel’s “Multidistrict Litigation Study Project”. He has personally participated in negotiating over $3.5 billion in complex litigation settlements in the last five years.
