The Legal Difference - Field Trips

Every Thursday, Neblett, Beard & Arsenault attorneys appear on a special segment of Good Day Cenla – The Legal Difference – to talk about frequently asked questions regarding legal matters, community involvement, and more! You can tune in to KALB every Tuesday at 11am CT to watch the show live. If you miss it, you can find all the episodes on our website, or check out our Facebook page!

On this week's episode of The Legal Difference, attorney Mike Koch shares the firm's field trips program. For over a decade, the firm has sponsored field trips to the Rapides Parish Courthouse for local classrooms to learn more about the judicial system. Mike takes the students on a unique tour of the courthouse to learn more about what each office does. They get to tour the records room, and speak with the Clerk of Court, Registrar of Voters, and the Tax Assessor's office. They also get the opportunity to have a question and answer session with one of the seven judges at the court, as well as other attorneys that may pop in to speak with the students. Mike then hosts a mock trial in one of the courtrooms, and every kid gets the opportunity to assume a courtroom role. After the judge hands over the final verdict, the kids break for pizza at Cici's and then tours the NBA firm to learn more about attorneys and legal staff, and their roles in the court.

Mike has enjoyed the opportunity to lead field trips for several years, and he shares some of his favorite memories as well. He concludes by inviting any local school, grades 4-12, to contact our firm if they're interested in taking a field trip with NBA!
