Since its inception, Neblett, Beard & Arsenault has sponsored Spirits Funktoberfest, and this year the firm was again a Krewe of Da Funk sponsor in support of their amazing cause.
Funktoberfest is family-friendly outdoor craft beer and music festival hosted at Spirits Food & Friends in Alexandria, LA. 100% of proceeds are donated to the Tipitina’s Foundation Instruments A Comin’ program, which puts musical instruments in the hands of local Central Louisiana students.
Last year the event raised over $9,000 that was given to the program to purchase band equipment for Alexandria Middle Magnet School. This year’s donations are still being tallied but are expected to match 2017’s donations. True to their love of the arts and music, Funktoberfest hosted several bands this year to play for the crowd. Their lineup included:
- Cenla Brass Band
- The Mammoths
- Alex Smith
- Grayson Capps
- Flow Tribe
- The Vegabonds
The craft beer portion of the festival was also responsibly enjoyed by festival-goers, and local brewers handed out samples of their best craft beer. Home breweries from all over the state competed for the top brewer title, and the winners were:
People’s Choice: Happy Wife Brew
Shed Brewer’s Choice: Big Dog Brewery
Judge’s Choice: Red Barn Brewery
Congratulations to the winners!
Spirit’s Funktoberfest is a festival that celebrates Cenla’s unique local culture through music, food, and family fun, while raising money to promote arts education in local schools. To learn more about Funktoberfest and their mission to support the Tipitina’s Foundation, visit here.
