NB&A Sponsored Field Trips Give Students Positive and Hands-On Experience with the Law

For nearly a decade, Neblett, Beard & Arsenault has sponsored field trips for local elementary, junior high and high school students. NB&A arranges for students to visit a local courthouse, speak with a judge, tour the Parish jail and tour our law offices. The Firm believes it is important that our young scholars have the opportunity to get up close and personal with our country’s proud legal system.

Attorney Mike Koch, who coordinates the trips, said, “Learning about the court system in a school book is important, but what we have found is that the actual experience of meeting with judges and lawyers, touring the courthouse and jail, makes a long lasting impression on the kids and helps them to understand the way the courts work.”

“It’s a win, win situation. It gives the students a sense of civic duty and it gives us a sense of fulfillment because we know that at the end of the day, we were able to do something good for these children. Their education was enhanced because we were lucky enough to team up with them and their teachers,” Mike added.

The Firm sponsors two trips per month with a variety of schools. If your school is interested in participating in the NB&A Field Trip program, please contact our Firm Administrator at 318-561-2500.
