Rapides Children's Advocacy Center & CASA Annual Fundraiser: Neblett, Beard & Arsenault proudly supports the efforts of Rapides Children’s Advocacy Center. This includes the annual dinner and silent auction fundraiser. The event generates important financial support for the agency and benefits the Rapides CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) program. The non-profit organizations help kids going through the court system who’ve suffered abuse or neglect.
2016 Holi Fest & Color Run for CASA Kids: Attorneys Jennifer Hoekstra and Mike Koch led a group of Neblett, Beard & Arsenault staff and families on the 5th Annual 4K Holi Fest Walk/Jog/Run in Downtown Alexandria. Everyone enjoyed pleasant weather, great Indian food, and a colorful fun time on the streets near Tamp & Grind. Following the run, local groups entertained the crowd with Indian dancing and music until the Alexandria Fire Department and Mayor Roy kicked off a siren blast to start the free “colors” event. Everyone in the vicinity was covered in colorful powder. Sprinkling colored powder (‘gulal’) on each other is symbolic of breaking barriers – when everyone looks the same, they are all combined for a joint purpose, just like the gumbo that is our local culture! The event, hosted by CENLA Indian Community and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), typically raises more than $20,000 for CASA, further helping the children of Rapides Parish.
