Dial Soap and Hand Sanitizer Class Action Lawsuits
Hand sanitizer and antibacterial soaps are more popular than ever, with many people relying on it to help protect themselves and their families from dangerous bacteria. With the threat of antibiotic-resistant strains like MRSA making national headlines, families are more aware than ever of their need to practice good hygiene. However, some antibacterial soap, hand sanitizer and antiseptic companies may have made promises that their products cannot live up to. Additionally, several companies have been warned by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to stop claiming that their products can prevent MRSA and other dangerous bacteria.
If you have purchased an antibacterial soap, hand sanitizer or antiseptic product because you believed it would prevent a MRSA infection or made other claims, you may have been misled. The class action lawyers at Neblett, Beard & Arsenault are currently investigating claims against these companies. If you have purchased these items and want an attorney to investigate whether you have a potential claim to compensation, contact our lawyers today at 1-800-256-1050 or submit an online request.
FDA Warns Manufacturers about MRSA Claims
The FDA has warned the makers of popular hand sanitizing and antiseptic products to stop advertising that their products can prevent dangerous and potentially deadly MRSA infections. These claims, according to the FDA, are “unproven” and therefore, “illegal.”
The FDA has issued warning letters to the following companies:
- Staphaseptic First Aid Antiseptic/Pain Relieving Gel, by Tec Laboratories
- Safe4Hours Hand Sanitizing Lotion and Safe4Hours First Aid Antiseptic Skin Protectant, by JD Nelson and Associates
- Dr. Tichenor’s Antiseptic Gel, by Dr. G.H. Tichenor Antiseptic Co.
- Clean Well All-Natural Hand Sanitizer, Clean Well All-Natural Hand Sanitizing Wipes, and Clean Well All-Natural Antibacterial Foaming Hand Soap, by Oh So Clean Inc., also known as CleanWell Company
Some of these companies were also warned for “unproven” claims that their hand sanitizers and antiseptics could prevent infections from other dangerous pathogens like H1N1 and foodborne illnesses, such as Salmonella and E. coli. The compliance director at the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research says these products’ claims, “give consumers a false sense of protection.”
Dial Complete Antibacterial Soap Lawsuits
Several class action lawsuits have been filed against the makers of Dial Complete. The lawsuits allege that Dial has made claims about its Dial Complete antibacterial soap that cannot be proven or are inaccurate. According to the Dial Complete lawsuits, Dial knowingly made false and misleading marketing claims about its Dial Complete antibacterial soap. These include claims that Dial Complete antibacterial soap kills 99.9 percent of germs, is the number one most recommended antibacterial soap by doctors and kills more germs than any other liquid hand soap. Additionally, the Dial Complete lawsuits claim that the active ingredient in Dial Complete, triclosan, may be dangerous. Triclosan is a registered pesticide, which the Environmental Protection Agency has rated high for human and environmental risk.
You may have purchased Dial Complete antibacterial soap because you believed that Dial Complete would provide additional benefits over washing with regular soap, but that may not be the case. Now, American consumers are fighting back and holding Dial responsible for its possible “fraudulent, deceptive and false” advertising campaign. If you have purchased Dial Complete antibacterial soap, you may be entitled to compensation.

Dangerous drugs and dangerous medical products can often do more harm than the disease or condition they are treating. Despite FDA regulations, many products slip by with unknown and harmful side effects that could be caused by a flaw in design or production. Sometimes these side effects are known by the company, but the product is pushed through in order to avoid delays and make profit.
