After the government lifted its warning on fresh spinach grown in California's Salinas Valley, concerns of possible E. coli tainted lettuce grown there has prompted a recall on lettuce.

The lettuce has not appeared to have caused any illnesses, according to the Salinas-based Nunes Co. Inc.  The voluntary recall was initiated by the company on Sunday of all green lettuce purchased under the Foxy brand.  The states covered in the recall were Arizona, California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Idaho and Montana.
