Michael Koch (pronounced Cook) graduated from law school in 1989 with honors.  Shortly thereafter, he joined the law firm of Neblett, Beard & Arsenault and has been practicing with them for over 18 years.  He is a limited liability partner with the firm and his primary area of practice is representing “everyday people” who were injured as a result of someone’s carelessness.  Mike practices in both State and Federal Court and has been involved in a wide variety of personal injury claims including slip and fall cases, auto accidents, trucking accidents, boating accidents, motorcycle accidents, wrongful death, product liability, maritime, police brutality, and medical malpractice.  He has tried numerous jury and bench trials throughout the State of Louisiana, including cities such as Alexandria, Monroe, Lake Charles, Lafayette, Breaux Bridge, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Thibodeaux.  He was the first member of the NBA law firm to handle a police brutality case wherein he received a settlement for his client in excess of $1,000,000.  Mike recently obtained a $450,000 unanimous jury verdict for one of his clients in a highly contested slip and fall case against a contractor that was doing construction work at a casino in Vinton, Louisiana.  Mike has handled over a thousand personal injury claims and earned a reputation as a compassionate attorney who puts his clients’ interest first.

Mr. Koch is married to Patricia Koch, who was recently elected District Judge for the 9th Judicial District Court in Alexandria.  He is actively involved with his three sons who are 12, 8 and 6 and participates in parent programs offered by the school and in helping coach his three sons.  As an member of the Horseshoe Drive Methodist Church, Mike serves his family, his community, and his law firm with dedication and hard work.
